Replacing the battery on your GAS IT Bluetooth sensor. ( XL and standard type sensor )

You will need to normally remove the battery in your sensor for 2 reasons.

1) To reset the unit if it has become corrupt or confused by too many sync button presses or you've been moving it around whilst its should have been calibrating or is not communicating with your smart device or not giving you a gas level reading.

2) If the battery needs replacing because it is dead.

When it comes to replacing the battery on the Bluetooth sensors ( either type - Standard or XL - Please note they are different ) there a couple of things to watch for.

First of all, please pay attention to making sure you install the new battery in the correct way so the polarity of the unit is not damaged by the battery being installed upside down. See Picture 1.

Before you removed the dead cell battery please visually look at the battery connectors ( one is on the side and visual the other will be seen below the batter when its removed.  Once you have removed the dead cell battery and before refitting a new cell battery, please look at the 2 small brass battery connectors ( terminals ) that touch the cell battery to supply power to the Bluetooth sensor.  You have to make sure they are located correctly otherwise they will not supply power to the unit.  There is the one brass connector that is located down at the bottom of the sensor, which is the negative ( - ) connection of the battery and then there is a further small brass connector that is fitted at the side of the cell and is the positive ( + ) connector.  It is very easy to push this negative connector down and below the battery you are replacing which will cause the Bluetooth unit to not work.

See the following pictures for further clarification on each type of Bluetooth sensor.

XL Bluetooth SensoR Battery Replacement ( battery required for XL sensor only is CR2450 - see below for battery details on smaller sensor)

1) Battery fitted correctly with the positive terminal clearly seen at the 5 too ( when represented on a clock face )  position in the picture ( Just above the P in the name Panasonic )  note polarity of the cell battery in a correctly fitted battery.

2) Note how the battery will look when fitted, if the Positive connector have been pushed below the battery - which will cause the Bluetooth sensor to not communicated with your smart device

Note you can not see any battery terminal as its been pushed below when reinstalling the battery.

3) The positive and negative battery connectors have been incorrectly pushed down below the battery when the new cell was installed and this is what it looks like when the cell battery has been removed.

Battery Replacement on smaller small bottle bluetoothe sensor ( without a round battery compartment lid ) Battery type CR2032

To replace the battery on our smaller bottle Bluetooth sensor you need to separate the covers of the unit ( its held together with small clip tabs ) as it does not have a separate lockable battery cover.  Be careful you do not break the lid by bending over the cover to far - see picture.

When fitting the new battery please make sure the battery is replaced with the + ( positive ) of the battery facing upwards ( see picture )

Please note there is a small rubber O ring all the way round the lid, please make sure this is replaced in the lids grove before replacing the 2 parts together - via a healthy sounding click home.
