My Bluetooth sensor is reading too high or too low - Have I under or overfilled or is it reading the valves in the bottle?
If you find the readings of the Bluetooth sensor on some bottles are spurious or your seeing high or even low readings then it could be because of two reasons. Firstly the bottle could have been overfilled due to either a faulty over pressure Autogas pump or due to the user forcing more gas in the bottle when the shut off valve is trying to stop it. The second reason could be that the ultrasonic sensor could be picking up any of the valve components inside the gas bottle - the outlet valve, the shut off valve, the gas level indicator and so on.
If this happens just move the sensor a centimetre or so off centre, leave it for an hour or so and if the reading is still not right move it another centimetre and continue to try other locations under the bottle if need be - it's important to leave the sensor once in a new location to allow it to calibrate its new location.
It happens on 1 out of 200 gas bottles as the ultrasonic sensor is bouncing upwards and might be towards a item in the bottle. Once the sweet point and best location has been found it will read perfectly there after.
Obviously if you suspect a overfilled gas bottle ( and your not sure how much gas you've put in there ) then speak to your bottle supplier. We recommend the best way to confirm if the obttles been overfilled is if you get the bottle weighted and using the size and capacity information off the GAS IT bottle webshop and take the tare weight ( its stamped on the bottom of the bottle ring ) and that will confirm it you.
