I have a 5 LED, will a newer 9 LED replace it
If you have a generation 1 GAS IT 5 LED indicator to show the gas level in your gas bottle or gas tank and want to replace it with a newer more accurate 9 LED type then it's quite straight forward to carry out as the wiring is the same on both LED gauges. Both LED displays use a live and negative from the 12 volt and then there is 2 signal wires going down to the gas level sender which is what sends the gas level from the tank to the gauge.
The only one consideration when changing from the earlier 5 LED to the 9 LED is that the 5 LED is physically cut and fitted into the panel, where as the 9 LED is surface mount, but we designed the 9 LED to be big enough to cover the hole of the removed 5 LED should you decide to upgrade.
As with any wiring be careful of the polarity of the 12 volt supply going to the LED.
