What is the life span of GAS IT refillable gas tanks & GAS IT bottles? 10 Year inspection / replacement

GAS IT refillable bottles have a maximum lifespan of 10 years, GAS IT bottles and tanks lifespan depends on how they are maintained and serviced .

Under UK law, privately owned end-user owned refillable gas bottles or gas tanks now need to be legally tested every 10 years as normal exchange type gas bottles are and we can't stress how important this is.  It's more important with your privately owned bottle because when you buy it then is less likely to have been looked at afterwards by an experienced gas bottle or tank expert there after. With exchange type (Calor,Flogas,etc) bottles every time they are filled they are visually inspected.

Liquid Gas UK has informed us that the requirements for recertification / replacement apply to privately owned refillable bottles and tanks.
As far as we are aware there are currently no recertification facilities in the UK so removal or replacement is the only option.
In accordance with industry guidelines NO public LPG refuelling facility / Autogas dispenser should allow the filling of expired, out of certification bottles or tanks. Consumer Guidance Sheet 37
